Last month, My Partner (Will), Mum (Kath), Brother (Rich), and dog (Padfoot) headed to Snowdonia (Eryri), in North Wales for a week of adventuring!
We based ourselves in a gorgeous Airbnb in Llanberis so that we were right in the heart of the mountains.
For a mini morning adventure (that turned out not to be so mini and ended up being a 11km exploration), we walked from our Airbnb to the Dinorwic Quarry.

Having visited Llanberis a few times over the years, I can’t believe that I hadn’t been here before.
We walked past abandoned and derelict buildings and former tram lines.

The quarry is huge… which makes sense as we read online that, during the 19th century, this slate mine was the second-largest producer of slate in the world.
Even on a grey day, the views were second to none. We could make out some of the mountain range, Dolbadarn Castle, and the lakes; Llyn Peris and Llyn Pardan.
We also were able to walk through caves (at our own risk) and have a proper explore which was pretty cool!

What a great way to spend a Monday Morning in Snowdonia National Park!
Will, Rich, and I then had an evening adventure which I look forward to sharing with you in the next blog!
